MARION, Ohio (AP) -- The Marion County Sheriff?s Office says a man died after being shocked with a Taser in a confrontation with a deputy.

An autopsy is scheduled today in Franklin County for 42-year-old Randy Buckey.

Marion County Sheriff Tim Bailey says in a release that appropriate force was used on Buckey.

A deputy was sent by court order to a Marion home yesterday morning to take Buckey for an evaluation at a counseling center. The release says that Buckey refused and walked away.

The deputy used his Taser in the struggle that followed.

Shortly afterward, Buckey?s breathing and heart rate became irregular. He was taken to Marion General Hospital, where he was declared dead.

The Buckeye State Sheriff?s Association will investigate.
