SPRINGFIELD TWP. -- A Springfield High School teacher is behind bars, accused of having sex with two students.

36-year-old Renee Smith was arrested, Friday, for two counts of Sexual Battery, a third degree felony.

She was arraigned in Akron Municipal Court and released on $2,500 bond.

Her arrest follows a six month investigation by the Springfield Township Police Department.

School officials placed Smith on administrative leave when the investigation began back in September. During the investigation and while she was still on administrative leave, Smith resigned from the Springfield School system. The investigation began after reports surfaced that Smith gave alcohol to underage people and that she had sex with a 17-year-old male. Another male also came forward saying he also had sex with Smith.
