HUDSON ? An Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigation has led to the arrest of a teacher in Hudson.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor, Bill Mason, chairs the task force and announced the arrest and indictment of Howard Kaplan.

Kaplan is a math teacher at Hudson?s Western Reserve Academy.

Mason says the 57-year-old Kaplan began chatting on the internet with what he thought was a 12-year-old girl beginning in May and lasting through August 21st. The 12-year-old girl turned out to be an investigator.

Kaplan lived on campus in Hudson and search warrants were executed on his home and office. After searching his home and office, Kaplan was arrested on August 23, 2007.

Mason says Kaplan has been indicted on nine counts of importuning and 1 count of possession of criminal tools.

Prosecutor Mason said, ?This ICAC investigation has stopped this predator from potentially harming any of our children. Kaplan?s actions should not tarnish this school?s excellent reputation.? Kaplan is scheduled to be arraigned in Cuyahoga County Court in September.
