Police: Altercation at Cleveland grocery store connected to fatal shooting

CLEVELAND -- Cleveland Police say a 17-year old male was killed Wednesday morning as a result of an altercation at the Superior Food Mart on East 89th Street.

The incident occurred at about 10:03 a.m. and began after an altercation with the manager of the store. The altercation continued after several males left the store.

Gunshots were fired during which the victim was struck in the head. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the manager was detained and questioned by the Homicide Unit and released with no charges.

This incident is still being investigated. Individuals are being questioned and evidence is being gathered and analyzed.
