KAMM'S CORNER -- What is a 23-cent pizza worth? One man paid with a night in jail.

The man was arrested after ditching the line at the Papa John's in Euclid. He never did get his pie.

It was a little more subdued on the west side. Although, traffic was backed up for hours and so was the chow line.

"I got the money to buy a pizza but, why not -- LeBron, go Cavs, once in a life time shot," Cavs fan Scott Mago said.

"I used my lunch money," one young pizza lover said. The average wait in line was two to three hours. The distance was about a block and a half. Pizza Hut is just about as far away with no waiting.

That's where Vivian Maynard ended up. "We would have stayed over there but it was going to be like a three-hour wait. It just wasn't worth it," Maynard said.

Fourteen dollars and 30 minutes later, Maynard was on her way with a large pepperoni. The 23-cent pizza at Papa John's really paid off for Pizza Hut.

"We're pleased. We got a lot of business today," Pizza Hut employee Zack Zlatanov said.

Papa John's had to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars in profit, making good on this apology for poor ad placement.

Papa John's offered a large, one topping pizza for 23 cents as an apology to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Cavalier LeBron James for having several of its Washington-area stores make T-shirts with LeBron's number and the word "crybaby" under it.

The T-shirts appeared at playoff game May 2 as the Cavs took on the Washington Wizards in Washington.

Maybe some didn't get a pizza, but they did get to hear who the company roots for now.

"Cavaliers of course -- ha-ha-ha -- of course," Papa John's Employee Adriene Green said.
