PAINESVILLE -- Lake Erie College tested its emergency preparedness plan through text messaging Wednesday afternoon.

The school, located on Mentor Avenue had a full scale evacuation of all campus buildings, notifying students with a text message.

The students received a text at 1 p.m. that read, "this is a test -- a 'bomb' has been planted in a campus building."

Cops and firefighters were brought in to search for a fake that was planted in a building.

The evacuees were taken to and housed in the Athletic Center at Walnut Avenue and Gillette Street.
