CUYAHOGA FALLS -- More than 10 million Americans have tried on line dating. Thousands of couples that met on line are now married.

It's become so popular, even celebrities like Halle Barry and Joan Rivers have admitted to dabbling online.

But with so many success stories out there, why are some folks embarrassed to admit to online dating?

John Ozarchuck, 28, never had trouble meeting women, just trouble meeting the right one.

"Going out, three-four nights a week with the guys, just wasn't cutting it anymore," Ozarchuck said.

Ozarchuck decided to give on line dating a try but admits he was a little embarrassed.

"There's a stigma with online dating, and I was worried what my friends would think if they came across my profile on there," Ozarchuck said.

Still, every time Ozarchuck turned on his computer he saw ads for match.com, e-Harmony and Yahoo! Personals, so he filled out a profile and posted his picture.

Meanwhile, Christine, a soft-spoken brunette who was also tired of the bar scene, posted her profile and picture on the same site.

"It made it easier for me because I'm not a very outgoing person," she said.

"I came across hers and I was like ?Wow, this girl is cute,? and then I looked through compatibility ?Hmm, 98 percent," John said.

The two emailed for several weeks, covering a lot of ground. John finally asked Christine for a date.

"He was so cute, so nervous,? she said. ?Spilling everything on the table, so cute."

Four months later, they got engaged. A year later, married, and now John and Christine are now expecting a baby. John is grateful he didn't let his pride hold him back.

"People say, ?That's for losers,? but I thought it was a great,? he said. ?[I] met woman of my dreams, amazing."

Cleveland Clinic Psychologist, Dr. Michael McKee, says people seriously looking to settle down, shouldn't be embarrassed to try online dating.

"If you want to meet some new people, where better to do it than a site where you can have data on 10 million people," McKee said.

McKee says because you exchange so much information it may actually result in a stronger relationship in the long run.
