BROOK PARK - Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has earned the support of one local Democratic leader.
Brook Park mayor Tom Coyne offered up praise to the GOP candidate during a surprise campaign stop in the city on Labor Day.
"I was happy to show Mr. Trump first-hand some of the challenges that we have faced in Northeast Ohio, with local plants shutting down and jobs leaving for overseas," Coyne said in a statement. "Mr. Trump speaks our language, I think he's more comfortable talking to labor and working class people than he is talking to bankers, and it shows. Fortunately for Ohio, I am confident that Mr. Trump represents a change in direction that will benefit workers and our communities."
After taking part in a Labor Day roundtable discussion, Trump also made a stop at a local restaurant.
