Senate candidates react to Trump's uncertainty accepting election outcome

Donald Trump's statement that he is not willing to commit to supporting the outcome of the election is prompting responses from both candidates in Ohio's Senate race.

From incumbent Republican Rob Portman, who recently withdrew his endorsement of Trump, this statement.:

"This sanctity of the ballot box is critical to our democracy. I have full faith in Secretary of State Jon Husted and our County Boards of Elections to ensure the integrity of the elections,"

Democratic underdog challenger Ted Strickland said:

"Donald Trump keeps showing that he's nothing but a thin-skinned blowhard and bully, I would hope that Senator Portman would join me in denouncing this outrageous attack on our country's democratic principles and our great tradition of peaceful transfer of power. Unfortunately this comment from Trump is completely consistent with the kinds of despicable statements Trump has been making for more than a year-which is why Senator Portman's decision to stand by Trump after he bragged about sexual assault, mocked individuals with disabilities and after Trump Trump questioned President Obama's American citizenship is such a clear demonstrates of Senator Portman's political cowardice."

Portman enjoys a double-digit lead in the polls.

He and Strickland have their final debate tonight in Cleveland.
