Federal prosecutors filed bribery and fraud charges Thursday against 69-year-old Anthony Sinagra, who is also the former mayor of suburban Lakewood.
He's accused of bribing former Parma school board member John Kevin Kelley for a consulting contract. Kelley has pleaded guilty and awaits sentencing.
The alleged bribes were more than $3,000 in campaign contributions to Kelley and on two occasions more than $1,000 in cash and a bottle of wine.
Sinagra was the eighth person charged in the investigation of alleged corruption in Cuyahoga County.
Messages seeking comment were left at a phone listing under Sinagra's name and at his attorney's office.
