
TALLMADGE -- In Tallmadge on Wednesday, the French Government honored a local veteran for his service during World War II.
Henry Skowronski served as a medic with the 101 Airborne. He was at the Normandy invasion and served in all the campaigns in France. He was taken prisoner during the Battle of the Bulge.
Skowronski was given the French Legion of Honor award. It was first awarded by Napoleon in May of 1802.
