Akron coach who had sex with teen player avoids prison.

AKRON -- A high school basketball coach who molested one of her own players has pleaded guilty just days before she would have stood trial.

22-year-old Quanette Vales received two years community control and forfeited her teaching license after admitting to sexual battery.

Vales had been a coach of the girls basketball team at Firestone High School and had also worked as a substitute teacher.

Investigators say the sexual relationship took place when Vales began driving the 15-year-old girl home from practice.
