NORTH CANTON -- An early morning high-speed police pursuit ended on someone's front lawn in the 2300 block of 38th Street N.W. in Canton.
Just before 3 a.m. Tuesday, North Canton Ptl. Scott Carrel saw a white Toyota Camry traveling southbound in the 1400 block of S. Main Street at a high rate of speed.
Carrel followed the Camry but the driver refused to stop. Carrel followed him outside the city limits on Cleveland Avenue NW. That's when an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper saw the Camry pass by and assisted Carrel in the pursuit.
Shortly thereafter, the Camry driver lost control in the 2300 block of 38th St N.W. in Canton. The driver was uninjured and there was only minor damage to the Camry.
Both the trooper and the North Canton police have charges for the driver and he is in the Stark County Jail. His name is not being released yet until charges are filed.
