AKRON -- Police are looking for the person responsible for a weekend attack in which one person was shot.
According to Akron Police, the 48-year-old victim said it was around 5 p.m. Friday in the 600 block of East Avenue when a man approached him, armed with a handgun.
After demanding money, the unknown suspect allegedly struck the victim in the mouth with the gun before firing two shots -- one that struck the victim in the buttocks, the other hitting the ground.
Police say the suspect then stole the victim's cell phone and $280 in cash before running away.
The victim drove himself to Akron General Medical Center for treatment.
