COLUMBUS-- All Ohio residents are now eligible for savings on prescription drugs through the state's Best Rx program.
State officials announced last week that the free, state-endorsed drug discount has opened to residents regardless of age or income.
There is no waiting period and no membership fee.
Ohioans 60-plus, and adults 18 to 59 with disabilities, already have access to the benefit through their Golden Buckeye card.
Other participants can now sign up online at www.OhioBestRx.org or by phone at 866-923-7879.
Seniors and other qualifying low-income families and individuals have been eligible for the program since 2004, saving more than $56 million on over 3.5 million prescriptions.
The program is administered through a public-private partnership between the Ohio Department of Aging and Envision Pharmaceutical Services.
