DETROIT -- The federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is hosting an event in Detroit to discuss consumer credit reporting.
Bureau director Richard Cordray plans to participate in Monday's field hearing at the Detroit Institute of Arts. It includes a panel of consumer and industry experts, as well as testimony from consumer groups, academics, industry representatives and members of the public.
The event is part of a broader effort for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to engage people outside of Washington, D.C.
The bureau has held events about consumer financial products and services in other cities around the country.
