Goodyear announced it's swapping the petroleum ingredient in tires for soybeans.
Here's why: It blends better with the other elements used to make tires, reduces energy consumption at the factory, it increases tread life by 10 percent, and will cut Goodyear's oil use by 7 million gallons a year.
The soybean based tires won't be available until 2015.
