Most of us take a daily vitamin or supplement for our health. But now Consumer Reports is taking a closer look at those pills and their risks.

Their report says some products might not live up to their promises. But most concerning, the FDA has received more than 6,300 reports in about five years of people having adverse effects. That's fewer than reports about problems with prescription medications.

Hundreds of Southwest customers who thought they were getting a deal, were accidentally billed multiple times for a single flight last week. There was a glitch on a half-price online ticket promotion. In some cases, customers had their credit cards charged 30 times or more. Southwest says it will pay customers for any overdraft fees caused by the additional charges.

Saving money is all about timing and there are certain things you should buy in August to get them at low prices. Clothing is on sale now because retailers are getting ready for back-to-school and getting rid of end-of-season items. August is also the best month to buy laptops and barbeque grills.
