Amazon is inviting the press and other interested parties to Seattle June 18 for a launch event.
The company isn't saying anything about what's being launched beyond that founder Jeff Bezos will be there.
Tech Crunch says it's a smartphone that changes orientation just by how it's looked at.
The video on the invitation page features a bunch of very photogenic people looking down at something about arm's length away that they keep turning their heads at odd angles to.
Crunch reported last year that Amazon was working on a phone with multiple cameras so the phone could track the user's eyes and head, making a three-dimensional interface possible.
One clue is in Amazon's invitation. Click that you're a developer and you're asked to describe an "innovative way in which you have used gyroscopes, accelerometers, compass, or other sensors in your app development."
