It's the dead of winter in Northeast Ohio and you know what that means.
Seasonal Affective Disorder.
But why focus on the downfalls, when you can see the possible. (Don't you love how I was able to slide in the WKYC brand in my perfect day set-up)
I'm a young mom with two energetic kids and an equally energetic husband. Of course my perfect day had to include a hefty dose of indoor activities that would produce smiles and laughs to warm up the soul on any frigid February day.
I took the entire family to Zip City in Streetsboro. This entertainment complex houses large trampolines, a small arcade, rock wall and the biggest attraction ... an indoor Zipline.
My husband and I went down the Zipline more times than I can count. The children chickened out.
Zip City wasn't a bust for the little ones though. They could have jumped for hours on the trampolines. In fact, my son became a champ in trampoline dodge ball.
The rock wall got the best of me. I only climbed a fourth of the distance before calling it a day. My husband did conquer the rock wall for the both of us. I'm claiming a conquest because the two are one right?
The kids called it a night and Mommy and Daddy tried to heat up the dance floor at Nazca Restaurant and Bar in Warrensville Heights. After an hour of Salsa lessons, we could barely handle a one-two step without tripping over each other's feet. We were a test of patience for our dance instructor, Claudio Garcia. He did his best with what we gave him.
We settled for the sidelines and enjoyed Nazca's Peruvian cuisine while watching other couples effortlessly glide across the dance floor. It was Nazca's Salsa Pasion Friday where I'm told the dancing goes until 2:30 a.m. I wouldn't know, we called it a night at 10:30 p.m. Do I get any cool points because it felt like 2:30 a.m. to me.
