WEST JEFFERSON, Ohio -- Authorities say a 24-year-old man suspected of fatally shooting his ex-girlfriend outside a central Ohio home and leaving the scene has been taken into custody in a different county.
The shooting happened Monday night in West Jefferson, about 15 miles west of Columbus.
Multiple media outlets report investigators searching for the suspect overnight warned he could be armed and dangerous.
West Jefferson police say the man was taken into custody early Tuesday morning in Marion County, north of Columbus.
Police allege the suspect shot the woman several times outside another man's home. They say she was taken to a hospital, where she died.
A woman who said she overheard the shooting told WBNS-TV the suspect was carrying a gun when he got into a car and left the scene.
