BEDFORD HEIGHTS -- Bedford Heights police continue to investigate the circumstances around a shooting where a homeowner shot an intruder on Mardale Avenue just after 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Mardale is just off Libby Road.
Police say the incident was described as a home invasion.
Police say a man who appears to be emotionally disturbed tried to get into the Mardale home just before 11 a.m.
The homeowner called police as he tried to keep the man from getting inside his home.
Before police arrived at the home, the man managed to get into the home and that's when the homeowner shot him.
The man was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center with a gunshot wound. His condition is not known as of Wednesday afternoon.
