ELYRIA -- The Lorain County Sheriff's office says two inmates walked away from correctional facility Sunday night after taking out the trash.
Captain Jim Drozdowski said officials at the Lorain/Medina Community Based Correctional facility called the sheriff's office just after 10 p.m. Sunday and said that inmates Brandon Bokar and Brian Long took out the trash just after 9:30 p.m. Sunday and were now missing.
Sheriff's office deputies responded just after 10:15 p.m. to the Murray Ridge Road facility with a K-9 to search for the men but could not find them.
The facility is a minimum-security facility. Monday morning, the sheriff's department issued warrants for their arrest.
Drozdowski said the men likely went behind a nearby warehouse. He said this is not the first time inmates have walked away from the facility.
