On Tuesday, Eastlake Police told Channel 3 News they received a call at 11 p.m. Monday that a gunshot wound victim was at the hospital in Willoughby.
Apparently the 27-year-old Cleveland man drove himself to the hospital after claiming he was shot in his car in the Eastlake Wal-Mart parking lot.
The man told police he had pulled into a parking spot to go shopping when an unknown suspect entered the passenger side of his car and demanded that he hand over "everything he had" before shooting the man in the side of the chest.
The suspect then left the area on foot and the victim drove himself to the hospital.
The victim was flown to Cleveland MetroHealth Medical Center where he is in stable condition.
Police collected and reveiwed the surveillance footage from the Walmart parking lot.
