Man convicted for 74th time; caught shoplifting vodka

ALLIANCE -- A judge sends two people to jail for shoplifting vodka from the same local store on two separate occasions.

A local man was found guilty of petty theft after being caught shoplifting vodka from Thorne's IGA on Dec. 17.

Andy L. Anderson, 43, of Alliance, was fined $100 and sentenced to 20 days in jail. Police noted that this is Anderson's 74th conviction for offenses ranging from theft and disorderly conduct to assault and trespassing.

The court also banned him for life from Thorne's IGA.

Police also say that Rebecca J. Toole, 32, also of Alliance, was found guilty of theft after shoplifting vodka from the same IGA but on Dec. 26.

She was fined $100  and sentenced to three days in jail.
