STREETSBORO -- Two people have been arrested after police found a new kind of crystal meth in a search of a motel room.
Police were called to the motel on SR 14 on Feb. 26 for possible drug activity.
Officers gained permission to search the room. The search turned up a small amount of marijuana, some prescription pills and a baggie of crystal meth.
The one-ounce bag of meth has an approximate street value of $6,000. But police say what makes the find so significant is that the meth is a new type to the area known as "ice" or "glass" meth. Police say it is different from the usual homemade "shake-and-bake" type of meth due to its purity.
The incident remains under investigation.
