AKRON, Ohio -- A man hiding inside of a house in Akron's North Hill neighborhood surrendered to police peacefully just after 5 a.m. Thursday, ending a more than hour-long standoff.
Akron Police summoned SWAT to the house at Zeller Avenue and Outlook Avenue, believing a gunman from earlier this morning was inside.
The original shots fired were reported on Patterson Avenue, just west of State Route 8, around 2:30 a.m. Thursday.
It appears that nobody was hit by the gunfire, police said.
Police have at least one other person in custody.
Officials have not released any other information yet.
