AKRON -- It wasn't food one man was hungry for when he entered a Church's Chicken in the 1200 block of South Main Street.
Akron Police say 18-year-old William Lemmon was taken into custody after allegedly robbing the restaurant at gunpoint around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Employees reported the suspect had entered the store and demanded all of the money from the safe as he pulled a handgun from his backpack. Lemmon reportedly jumped over the counter and attempted to open the safe himself, but fled out a rear door when he was unsuccessful.
Shortly after the incident, an officer located Lemmon in a wooded area near Stanton Street and Highbrook Avenue.
Officers recovered the suspect's backpack and weapon, which was a BB gun.
Lemmon, of Norton, was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery.
He has been booked into the Summit County Jail.
