Charges are expected to be filed later this week against a Medina County man, accused of animal abuse in a case that's gotten attention from as far away as Washington State.
His victims? A pony and a puppy.
They are calling her Charity, a four-year-old miniature pony who was found last week with a chain embedded in her neck.
It took a vet hours to cut the chain from the starving pony's skin. But she wasn't the only one.
A return to the Medina County home the next day led to the discovery of a puppy, a harness had grown into her skin as well, according to Stephanie Moore, of the Medina County SPCA.
Charity's wounds are being cleaned three to four times a day and they are coaxing her to eat, something they say she hadn't been able to do for some time.
