Researchers found, people who drink four or more cups of caffeinated coffee a day, reduce their risk of getting oral, head or neck cancers, by 39 percent.

The study can be found in Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention. It's a journal of the American Association for Cancer Research.

"I think it is very interesting. Coffee has a thousand compounds in it. I think we need to pursue it and find out what is in it, what is beneficial," says Dr. Pierre Lavertu.

He is the Director of Head and Neck Surgery and Oncology with University Hospitals Case Medical Center.

Dr. Lavertu also says the study has some drawbacks because it is a culmination of multiple studies from many countries with different types of coffees.

"We don't have good information regarding how long people have been on caffeine," says Dr. Lavertu.

Dr. Lavertu recommends people continue to eat right and exercise. Also, stop smoking and drinking alcohol to reduce the chances of getting cancer.
