LAKE COUNTY -- A Lake County man is facing charges after deputies say he threatened to shoot and kill his mother over the weekend.

Police say the 29-year-old had been drinking and argued with his mother at their Trask Road home in Leroy Township.

The mother called 9-1-1 at 4:30 a.m. on April 22 after she says her son approached her with a .22 caliber gun.

The son took the phone from his mother as she was talking to 9-1-1 dispatchers.

Dispatchers then were able to talk the son into putting down the gun.  He left the home without incident once deputies arrived.

The son, identified as Dennis Gruszka, faces a charge of using weapons while intoxicated.  An additional charge is being reviewed by the prosecutor, according to a sheriff's department written release.
