Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Kelly Johnson hit a two-run double in the first
inning and Carlos Villanueva tossed six scoreless frames, as the Toronto Blue
Jays beat the Tampa Bay Rays, 2-0, in the opener of a four-game series.
Villanueva (7-4) gave up five hits while striking out seven and walking one
for the Blue Jays, who have won three of four. Darren Oliver, Brad Lincoln and
Casey Janssen each pitched a scoreless inning in relief.
Matt Moore (10-8) allowed two runs on six hits over six innings for the Rays,
who have lost five of six and sit 4 1/2 games behind the New York Yankees in
the AL East.
