CLEVELAND --  Navy Week is even bigger in Cleveland as armed forces mark the bicentennial celebration of The War of 1812.  One of the more popular attractions, the Blue Angels were generating quite a bit of excitement as they practiced Thursday.   

"[When] the Blue Angels are flying over, we call that the sound of freedom," said US Coast Guard Rear Admiral Michael Parks.

Blue Angel Lt. Mark Tedrow says its his first time participating in a show in Cleveland.  "We see people just really excited, fired up about what we do that's what we're here for to inspire them," said Lt. Tedrow. 

People spent the day going abroad historic ships, and watching war reenactments on the lake. 

While the festivities are a lot of fun, they serve as a reminder of the work our servicemen and women do on a daily basis. 

"Freedom isn't free.  The service these volunteers do to keep us safe and secure, its nice," said Rear Admiral Michael Parks.
