Tempe, AZ (Sports Network) - The Arizona Cardinals reduced its roster to 53 on
Friday after releasing 18 players.
Cornerbacks Crezdon Butler and Larry Parker, linebackers Antonio Coleman,
Clark Haggans, Colin Parker and Quan Sturdivant, defensive ends Ronald Talley
and Everrette Thompson and defensive tackle Ricky Lumpkin were among the
casualties of the NFL's annual roster reduction.
Tight ends Steve Skelton, the brother of starting quarterback John Skelton,
and Martell Webb, wide receivers Isiah Williams and Demarco Sampson, offensive
tackle D.J. Young, center Scott Wedgie, guard Russ Hochstein, safety Blake
Gideon and running back Alfonso Smith were also released Friday.
Additionally, Arizona placed quarterback Richard Bartel and running back
Javarris James on inured reserved while linebacker Brandon Williams and wide
receiver Stephen Williams were waived-injured.
