Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - The Houston Astros called up pitcher Edgar
Gonzalez from Triple-A Oklahoma City to start Monday's game against
Pittsburgh.
Gonzalez began the season in the Colorado organization, but was released on
June 19. He then signed with the Astros on August 23.
In the minors this season, he was 6-5 with a 3.84 earned run average in 23
games, 15 of which were starts.
He has appeared in 107 games (41 starts) in the majors with Arizona, Oakland
and Colorado over eight seasons. He has posted a 14-25 record with a 5.90 ERA.
