MENTOR -- Many Lake County fire departments responded to a house fire Monday night.
Fire crews were called to Taft Street in Mentor shortly after 7 p.m. Monday night after neighbors reported black smoke coming out of the home.
No one was home except the dog. Neighbors broke through a window to rescue the dog.
Willoughby and Mentor-on-the-Lake assisted at the fire scene, while Kirtland, Grand River, and Concord assisted Mentor with any other emergency calls.
Firefighters had the fire under control around 7:47 p.m.
Crews at the scene were focusing on the kitchen but, at this time, neither a cause nor a damage estimate have been determined.
