Florham Park, NJ (Sports Network) - The New York Jets have signed defensive
tackle Marcus Dixon and punter Robert Malone.
Dixon returns to the Jets after being waived by the team on Saturday. He spent
the past two seasons with the Jets, collecting 18 tackles with 2 1/2 sacks in
19 games, including four starts.
Malone was waived by the San Diego Chargers last week. He averaged 41.5 yards
on 52 punts in 12 games during the 2010 season for Tampa Bay and punted in one
game for Detroit last year.
The Jets waived nose tackle Isaako Aaitui and punter T.J. Conley. Aaitui was
claimed off waivers from Miami last Saturday, while Conley appeared to have
kept his job in training camp this summer after averaging 42.7 yards on 92
punts last season.
New York also made two practice squad moves, signing cornerback LeQuan Lewis
and releasing linebacker Ricky Sapp. Both were among the Jets' final cuts last
week and Sapp had been signed to the practice squad.
