Eden Prairie, MN (Sports Network) - Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian
Peterson is questionable for Sunday's season opener against the Jacksonville
Jaguars due to ongoing recovery from knee surgery.
Peterson tore the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in his
left knee after a helmet-to-knee hit from Redskins safety DeJon Gomes during a
Week 16 loss in 2011.
He had successful surgery in Dec., performed by renowned surgeon Dr. James
Peterson, who took limited reps in practice all week and also missed time in
2011 with a high ankle sprain, finished last season with 970 rushing yards
and 12 touchdowns on 208 carries. It was the first time in his career that
he didn't eclipse 1,000 yards rushing.
Safety Andrew Sendejo (ankle) and linebacker Marvin Mitchell (ankle) are both
out for Sunday's contest.
