CINCINNATI -- The Secret Service is investigating a high school student in Ohio who apparently sent a tweet saying that "someone needs to assassinate Obama ... like ASAP."
An agent in charge of the Secret Service office in Cincinnati says they're investigating the Twitter message as a potential threat and will report their findings to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
The Cincinnati Enquirer (cin.ci/Sqq9XC) reports that officials from Clinton-Massie School District met with the girl and her parents Friday morning.
Officials from the school about 40 miles north of Cincinnati say the girl's parents had not known about the tweet.
They say it was sent Thursday night just hours President Barack Obama spoke at the Democratic convention.
