Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Cole De Vries worked six scoreless innings
on Saturday and the Minnesota Twins blanked the Cleveland Indians, 3-0, in the
second test of a four-game series at Target Field.
De Vries (5-5) surrendered just four hits and fanned two while walking one to
earn his third consecutive positive decision. Brian Duensing and Jared Burton
tossed scoreless relief innings and Glen Perkins got through the ninth
unscathed to earn his 11th save of the year, and first at home.
Joe Mauer hit an RBI single and Josh Willingham added a sacrifice fly for the
Twins, who had lost four of their last five entering play on Saturday. Justin
Morneau contributed an RBI with a bases-loaded walk in the triumph.
Zach McAllister (5-7) took the loss after giving up two runs on two hits and
three walks over three innings. Shin-Soo Choo had two hits in the Indians'
second loss in their last three games.
