Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Mike Moustakas drove in the game's first run in
the top of the 10th inning and Jeff Francoeur added an RBI single that proved
to be the difference, as the Kansas City Royals held on for a 2-1 win over the
Chicago White Sox in the rubber match of a three-game series at U.S. Cellular
Field.
Chicago reliever Brett Myers (2-3) walked Billy Butler with two outs in the
10th before giving up three straight singles to Salvador Perez, Moustakas and
Francoeur.
In the bottom of the inning, Greg Holland walked two of the first three
batters he faced. Gordon Beckham then put the White Sox on the board with a
one-out double to left field. Holland, though, struck out both Alejandro De
Aza and Ray Olmedo swinging to record his 13th save of the season.
