AKRON -- Eighth-graders at a northeast Ohio school are getting a lesson in the horror of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
The Akron Beacon Journal (http://bit.ly/PahBh0) reports that a class at St. Paul of Akron Elementary School has written the names of every one of the Sept. 11 victims on individual note cards - all 3,042 of them.
The idea is to pass out the cards at a local Sept. 11 memorial on Tuesday. That's the 11th anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon and the crash of United Airlines Flight 93 into a field in Shanksville, Pa.
The project was the idea of retired Akron firefighter John Woofter, who put up a local 9/11 memorial display in 2009.
