Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - The Baltimore Orioles on Thursday selected
the contracts of outfielders Endy Chavez and L.J. Hoes from Triple-A Norfolk,
and designated both pitcher Kevin Gregg and infielder Ryan Adams for
assignment.
Chavez had been designated for assignment on Aug. 4, and played in 15 games
for Norfolk after being sent outright to the club. In 47 games earlier this
season with the O's, he hit just .190 with two homers and eight RBI.
Hoes was a .300 hitter with three homers, 38 RBI and 54 runs scored in 82
games with Norfolk since his early-season call-up from Double-A Bowie.
Gregg was 3-2 with a 4.74 earned run average in 40 games for Baltimore in
2012.
Adams was a .224 hitter in 65 games at Norfolk this season.
