Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Dodgers activated shortstop
Dee Gordon from the 60-day disabled list on Tuesday and recalled pitcher
Stephen Fife and infielder Elian Herrera from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Gordon tore the ulnar collateral ligament in his right thumb while sliding
into third base in a July 4 game against the Cincinnati Reds.
At the time of the setback, Gordon was hitting .229 with 36 runs scored in 78
games. He also led the majors with 30 stolen bases.
Herrera's call up marks his third stint with the big club. He is hitting .244
with a home run and 16 RBI in 53 games for the Dodgers this season.
Fife has made three starts for LA this season, going 0-1 with a 2.16 ERA.
To make room for Gordon on the 40-man roster, Los Angeles placed infielder
Adam Kennedy on the 60-day DL with a strained right groin.
