Metairie, LA (Sports Network) - The New Orleans Saints placed wide
receiver Adrian Arrington -- out since the preseason with a knee injury -- on
the team's injured reserve, and in a corresponding move signed free agent
wide receiver Greg Camarillo, interim head coach Aaron Kromer said at a
Wednesday press conference.
Arrington, who went into the Saints' preseason camp as a top candidate for the
team's fourth wideout opening, has been recuperating since August from
meniscus surgery. The Saints originally cut Arrington from the roster on
Saturday, but after poor performances by other receivers on the depth chart in
last weekend's 40-32 home loss to Washington, they resigned Arrington on
Monday morning.
For his career, the third-year player out of Michigan has caught nine balls
for 110 yards and no touchdowns.
Camarillo joins the Saints after playing the last two years for the Minnesota
Vikings. He has also spent time with the Miami Dolphins -- where he saw
significant playing time in 2008 and 2009 -- and the San Diego Chargers,
totaling 142 passes caught for 1,686 yards and five touchdowns.
