Lake Forest, IL (Sports Network) - Less than a month after his release, the
Chicago Bears signed running back Kahlil Bell to a one-year contract on
Saturday.
The Bears released safety Jeremy Jones to make room on their roster for Bell,
who was added two days after starting running back Matt Forte suffered an
ankle injury.
Bell, 25, rushed for 337 yards on 79 carries along with 19 receptions for 133
yards and a score in 13 games for the Bears last season.
The UCLA product did not make the team out of training camp this year.
"I'm taking my talents back to Chicago. So happy to be back. Never wanted to
leave," Bell wrote on his Twitter account.
Bell has totaled 557 yards on 119 rushing attempts and caught 20 balls for
137 yards and one touchdown in 20 career games for the Bears.
