CLEVELAND -- Today is Veterans Day. It is the day we honor those who have served our country.
Sunday morning, the U.S.S. Cod Submarine held a special memorial service for those in the armed forces. The crew will hold free tours from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. today.
The submarine memorial is docked on North Marginal Road, between East 9th St., and Burke Lakefront Airport.
The 312-foot submarine Cod completed seven patrols in the Pacific in WWII and served for several years in the Atlantic during the early Cold War before coming to Cleveland in 1959.
Tours will include the torpedo rooms and the five Cleveland-built diesel engines.
