Fort Myers, FL (Sports Network) - Kevin Kiermaier capped a five-run eighth
inning with a two-run triple, as the Tampa Bay Rays rallied to beat the
Minnesota Twins, 8-5, in Grapefruit League action.
Stephen Vogt had two hits and knocked in a run for the Rays, who entered the
eighth down 5-2. Matt Moore gave up two runs on two hits and two walks in 2
2/3 innings.
Trevor Plouffe supplied a two-run double in the loss.
Liam Hendriks started for the Twins and allowed two runs on four hits and
struck out three in three frames. Tim Wood couldn't make it through the
fateful eighth as he was charged for five runs on five hits while recording
just two outs.
