BEDFORD HEIGHTS -- The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has ruled Kayla Turner's death a homicide.
An autopsy is beign done today (Monday).
Police are investigating the death of the 2-year-old at an apartment complex in the 5800 block of Bear Creek Dr. around 4 p.m. Sunday.
Police and EMS were told by the uncle that Kayla had reportedly hit her head and was breathing slow but was unconscious.
EMS took Kayla to Bedford Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
Rnroute, EMS crews noticed bruises on Turner's body that were inconsistent with the original 911 call.
Bedford heights police say they were told she had been staying with her uncle.
Once the autopsy is complete, additonal charges are likely to be filed.
