Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - Hiroki Kuroda threw four shutout innings and
Kevin Youkilis slammed his first home run of the spring, as the New York
Yankees earned a 4-0 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.
Kuroda scattered three hits, struck out six and did not walk a batter in the
victory. Joba Chamberlain, David Robertson, Dellin Betances and Shawn Kelley
combined for five innings of three-hit relief to close it out.
Youkilis homered in the fourth inning for the game's first run and added a
sacrifice fly in the sixth. Derek Jeter was back in the lineup as the
designated hitter and went 0-for-2 after picking up a hit in his first spring
appearance on Saturday.
J.R. Towles had two of St. Louis' six hits, while Cardinals starter Lance Lynn
surrendered Youkilis' homer and just one other hit in four innings.
